Why does the United States have only two major political parties? Could this system change? Should it? Join us at our offices in Downtown Columbia for the next event in our Candid Conversations small group interactive discussion series, as we explore timely issues to spark transparent dialogue, build connections, and bridge the gaps among community members. RSVP below – space is limited to ensure a small group environment.
Topics our conversation may address include:
- What are the obstacles to forming a third major political party? Why have past attempts failed?
- Is it time for a change? If not now, then when?
- Data shows that in this election year, a significant percentage of Americans did not support any of the main party candidates, believing President Biden to be of failing mental and physical health, alienated by President Trump’s toxic rhetoric and felony convictions, and questioning Vice President Harris’ qualifications as the Democratic nominee. How did we get here, and where do we go from here?
- What is our role – as individuals, business owners, and community members – in having constructive conversations about this topic? How can we approach these conversations?
